The Mormon Missionaries are coming to see me today

Filed under: Uncategorized — gayandy @ 7:56 am

I invited them to come teach me more about the LDS Mormon Church. I hope I’m not attracted to the Mormon church only because I like guys. Males play a big role in the church. I wonder what the LDS Missionaries will think about me when I tell them I’m gay??

David Archuleta is a Mormon. Here’s David singing in his Mormon church.

  1. Hi David, they will tell you to live a chaste life and may be that all gay people living an active gay life will not enter the kingdom of God.LDS is the humanitary branch of the Mormons.Wish you a nice talk with them.{hugs}Rolde

  3. my understanding is that they hold a very distorted view on homosexuality… Not too many months back, I remember a situation where a gay couple in Salt Lake City, went to the sidewalk area (public sidewalk) in front of the cathedral and, were holding hands or kissing… I can't remember which… Either way, it was a PDA (public display of affection). The cathedral area has camera surveillance and, within minutes, the POPO arrived, and proceeded to insist that the couple leave… from a public area!! Still, the boys that canvas the neighborhoods are WAY cute, usually… IDK, they all seem to trigger my gaydar, but, it's probably just a false reading because it's two hotties, going around, practically arm in arm, selling their version of discrimination, behind a thinly veiled banner of Christian love… hmmm… Well, enjoy the eye candy, anyway, David!! luv, tman<3

  4. Dang David, That is a pretty awesome video you selected from the YouTube about the two brothers and their changes over the years.I don't know how you happened upon it, but it is very touching. Thanks for the post. Also, I don't predict a very positive experience with the Mormon guys if indeed they do come and talk with you. They are so heavily indoctrinated in one way of thinking, it doesn't leave any room for understanding of different life situations. Being gay will simply turn them away from you, with no desire to even try to understand what it is all about. Mormanism is a cult anyway, not a true religion in my humble opinion. –carlitos

  5. You might as well face it Andy; most organised religions are clubs for str8 people. All they want to do is dump a big guilt trip on you over your sexuality. (yeah, it's ok to be homosexual but YOU CAN'T ACT ON IT!) Young homosexuals have enough problems finding gay friends and partners without the psychological damage of feeling guilty and anxious about their sexuality. That is why we have GAY PRIDE parades; to show that we are not ashamed or guilty over our sexuality, but it is something to be celebrated the same as str8s. Catholic and Protestant churches are bad enough with their attitudes toward homosexuality, but the Mormon church takes it to a higher level. In more detail it is this; historically most churches advocated large families to increase their numbers and power, Islam is doing this today in spite of a grossly over-populated world. Homosexuality is not conducive to producing large families and that is why organised religions are dead against it. And that is why the Mormon church encouraged polygamy in the old days so as to increase their numbers and why they are virulently homophobic today. So if you want to be a Mormon and renounce your sex life then go ahead, but the last thing you need is more religious people telling you that your sexuality is wrong. I grew up with this hypocracy and crap most of my life and I resent our gay youth being damaged by this today (I hope I don't sound too bitter lol). It is almost impossible for churches to change their policies toward homosexuals cos they are full of homophobic bigots who want to keep their club just the way it is. Yes the Mormon missionaries are nice guys and will sound warm and convincing, but the damage their church has done to their homosexuals is hidden in triple bolted closets, and those who manage to escape are ostracized and shunned. Notice that I am only against the false religious teachings that homosexuality is evil; you can worship a rock if you want to but don't you dare disrespect my sexuality. bfn – Wayne 😐

  7. OK Dave,Mormons have good morals, can be nice people, believe in family values. That they present first. Their teaching is different even though they use words like Redeemer etc. They mean something different than the Catholic church teaches. They teach that Jesus was only human, that he died – but not for our sins; that He did not rise, that the Bible isn't the sole Word of God – the book of Mormon explains what happened better; that we can be baptized for the dead (thus the rich genealogy); that when a man dies he gets his own planet and as many wives as he was baptized on behalf of. In Mormon country they will ostracize Gentiles like you and me. Yes, they are fast growing and seem to offer something a lot of people are looking for. Questions are not answered straightforward, and they believe that Joseph Smith was directed to dig up golden tablets in Pennsylvania in the 19th century which had God's true Word on it, but then he buried them again. I've had first hand contact with Mormons and have studied them and viewed their temple in St. Louis County before dedication (I would not be allowed in their now and they replaced all the carpet after scores of Gentiles viewed the place. They also believe males are are superior, used to be polygamous, used to be racist until the US gov got them to cut it out and then they had a divine revelation. Although I am a trained Lutheran theologian even when I dialoged with them it was quite a challenge – they know what to answer. And I believe they are anti-gay.I hate to have such a long spiel ( but then at age 65 what do you expect) and don't print this whole thing because we don't believe in attacking people, but making a clear stand for the true teaching of God's Word (which includes not using clobber passages against gays, but acceptance and understanding). We still show kindness to the people. Anyway I hope I didn't offend you and that's why I'm asking you not too print this whole thing less somebody thing they are attacked. I was talking about their true beliefs – which may differ from yours. Of course it's you decision.

  8. If you don't already, you should know that the Mormon church has been instrumental in getting anti-gay legislation passed in the US. They and the Catholic church teamed up to help win Prop 8 in CA and to kill marriage equality in Maine, for example. For Prop 8, Mormon church leaders visited parishioners in their homes and informed them of the monetary amount they were expected to give for the cause.

  9. Hey Andy,I very seldom say this to a man, but David Andrew Delacruz es un hombre my guapito. That's not hard to say because it is true. RE: Mormon Chruch and Mormon Young Missionaries. I invited young Mormon missionaries so I could understand them and compare their religion to Catholicism. Our conversation went around to the issue of Homosexuality. They tried to avoid the issue. My older brother became very uneasy. He got up, came out later with two glasses of Coke and told them to drink it. It was the Mormons' turn to become uneasy. They left without completing their "mission". I admonished my older brother for being rude. He said he really wanted them to leave because he was uneasy and so were they over the situation. My brother also said the fastest way to get rid of them: ask about their stand on homosexuality and offer them Coke or Coffee. I think I missed a chance to understand them. Perhaps, you could ask them about homosexuality before you tell them you are gay and listen to what they have to say. Then offer them Coke or coffee. Depending on their reaction????RE: David Archuleta. I am a fan since his Star Search year. Maybe you know this already, but I promote him every chance I get. David was 12 when he became The Junior Star Search Champion. Arsenio Hall wanted to squish him and had to settle for tight hugs. Naomi Judd was enamored by him. Ahmet Zappa predicted he would become a rich man. Zappa has a golden tongue because David is now rich. He competed in American Idol Season 7 and was runner-up. To this day, I still think David should have won. I only watched American Idol because of David. Paula Abdul wanted to hug David, squish him and hang him on her car's rear view mirror. Randy Jackson admired David. The arrogant and crude Simon Cowell was cruel and ruthless to David. He thinks the United States is still a colony of England with his arrogance and smugness. When David competed in American Idol, he was just recovering from partial vocal paralysis. I thought that maybe the reason why American Idol did not see fit to declare him as the Champion. Anyway, David is now a well known singer and songwriter, both in English and Spanish. Andy, being the namesake of David Archuleta, could you regale us with your singing?RE: Self-Defense. I urged every gay person to learn self-defense. I suggested to Anthony, a black belter in Karate, to teach Karate to young men, both gay and straight. He said he would to those who are interested. Self-defense in whatever form also teaches discipline, the foremost of which is to use it only as a last resort.I give Rike Kudos to the nth degree for protecting you from bullies. Bullies are cowards who only recognize the power of the fists. They don't listen to reason nor do they have any iota of understanding or kindness in their bones. They validate themselves by preying on those who will not fight back or defenseless. It is a good idea for you to ask Rike to join you in a self-defense course. That will lead him to channel his aggression to self-defense and discipline. I think that will also strengthen your bond and your frienship. Who knows, it could even go beyond.Caesar Augustus

  16. Hey Andy, Thank you very much for posting the video of David James Archuleta's acapella rendition of Silent Night. You are so right, his voice is angelic, no electric voice enhancements. I'll save this also in "My all time favorites". Haven't you noticed, he has also two names plus his family name like you? Take care.Caesar Augustus

  17. Sorry to repeat this, folks: the mormons are not a Church (there's only one: the Church foundet by St. Peter acting upon the order of J.C.) but one of the many most influent SECTs you have there over the ocean. Members are indoctrinated starting in their youngest childhood (when they are not able to make up their own opinion) and devoted to their "religion" exclusively, which means no room for any other ideas, homosexuality included. There are from the conceptual side parallels to radical islamism. You don't need to step in that, David!Oliver
