Forget about helping me. These people need our help way more than me.

When you scroll down the page you’ll see a post from me asking for help with earning money to repair my Macbook. Forget that. Here’s something far more important that you can do to help people who are trying to survive in horrific conditions. I saw something today that tore on my heart. Whether we agree or disagree with what’s happening in Pakistan, there is no room for disagreement with the suffering that millions (20 million) Pakistan people are enduring. Instead of helping me repair my Macbook, please watch this video and then donate to the Red Cross a trusted and meaningful way of making a real difference in the lives of those who are desperate.

Here’s how you can donate: Red Cross Pakistan Flooding

  1. Hey Andy,Your concern for the flood victims in Pakistan is admirable. I will make a donation. However, you must not give up your efforts to earn your own money through the ads. You could only be charitable if you could afford to give. Furthermore, the saying that charity begins at home is true and practical. In other words, you have to provide for yourself first, before you can provide for others. I don't mean to dampen your idealism. We all need to strive for what is ideal. However, it is most difficult to be idealistic if you are poor and your main concern is just to be able to feed your family. In case you've missed it, please read my two posts about the ads in your previous post. Caesar Augustus

  3. My heart goes out to people who are blind-sided by disasters and go through great suffering. Unfortunately we are going to see more and more of this as the decades go by mainly because of over-population. Huge numbers of people are living in areas where they shouldn't be living; and these families are averaging 7 or 8 kids. China had the sense to institute limitations on the number of children families could have; they knew over-population would ultimately lead to self destruction. (Easter Island is a perfect example) In Africa millions of poor people are living in areas which are basically desert; these areas are meant for a small population of nomadic people. In Pakistan and Bangladesh millions upon millions are living in flood and hurricane prone areas; it is only a matter of time until the next disaster. If they don't institute population control then nature will take its unpleasant course. So why don't they? In one word; religion. Islam (and to a certain extent the Christian church) promotes large families to increase their power, which is absurd in over-populated countries. We shouldn't feel smug here in North America; we too are over-building and living in places we shouldn't (New Orleans, ocean front property, earthquake prone areas, Las Vegas etc) What is the word, oh yeah; folly. bfn – Wayne
